Dude(tte), seriously, most of those people who are married and have houses will be divorced or in the process of getting divorced by your 10th reunion, and the rest will have 7 children and will attend wearing prairie dresses and flats while you look all hot in your stilettos and your gym-honed bod. When I was your age (she says, her voice creaking under the weight of 40 years), I thought I had it all locked in, that I knew who I was and what I wanted. Guess what--I didn't know shit! This year I finally feel like I really know who I am and what I want.

No, you're not grown up yet. It's like you're a chicken, baking in the oven, and someone's stuck a thermometer in your thigh, and it reads 145 degrees. Now 145 degrees in a chicken is almost done, and just on the verge of avoiding salmonella, but do you want to chance it? Hell no. You put that bird back in the oven for a while until the thermometer reads a solid 160.

There is no rush. Take every minute. Have fun. Have crazy adventures. You will not regret it.

Sometimes I look in the mirror, and I feel like nothing has changed since my senior year of high school, even though it obviously has! It's crazy when I realize that so many of my friends have kids, and are married, when I remember giggling for hours over sleep overs. I feel the same way about my parents--I am about to turn 23, and that's how old my mom was when she had me--weird!

Will we ever feel like grown ups?

As one of those normal high school friends, I find myself wondering the exact same thing about the rest of the people our age. I had a minor freakout like two weeks ago about this exact same thing.
